Am I the only one who didn't know that technically - there's no such thing as vegan butter?!

I have since discovered (probably the last person to) that vegan "butter" is actually just margarine. They have schooled me (the people that know it all) that in order for it to be called butter, the process of churning cream would need to be involved. Now we all know how vegans feel about cream from a cow:). So inline with using the correct terminology, we use margarine, which is a mix of vegetable oils, water, salt, and emulsifiers until it takes to the consistency of butter. There isn't a wide variety of vegan margarine available in the market. I'm not quite sure why that is because we are a country that loves thick spreads of margarine/butter on steamy bread that just came out of the oven or umbhako (baked bread) as we would call it back home eSwart Water. Having said that, there are options in our supermarkets - limited as they are , they do exist. Below are ones that I have used or know of from doing some reading. Please comment with any other brands that you might have come across or any simple home-made recipes.
